The black dragon had heard beautiful singing coming from afar when she was wandering the beach as a child, ever since then she had yearned to become a being that possessed such an enchanting singing voice.
As she grew older, she realized that she was different from her peers---she didn't have any wings on her back. Cadrey's parents also noticed their daughter's difference. After returning home from his travels, Cadrey's father gave her a human harp on her birthday to help make up for her deficiency.
Without wings like the others, Cadrey became an outcast among her people. All alone, the only companion she had was her harp. When others would soar across the skies, she would sit on a rock by the sea, singing and playing along with the sea breeze.
However, the odd thing was that no matter whether everyone else was flying in the sky, or in their homes, they could all clearly hear Cadrey's singing. Her singing even attracted the attention of other Dragon Clans on neighboring islands a few times.
Some people within her clan said that she was a cursed black dragon and her singing would bring calamity upon them. There were also others who said that she was the legendary dragon singer who would unite the dragon clans.
